Ibanez JS2480 mini-run.
The BDS team decided that sometimes waiting for the factory to coordinate an official run requires too many pieces to fall into place and takes too long to coordinate and keep us doing what we love to do (aka making crazy looking guitars in 100% of our free time).
We love Joe. He’s been an inspiration, a friend, and collaborator and the JS is one of my favorite guitars – both to play and to work on. So we decided to do an in-house mini-run. BDS acquired 30 new Ibanez JS2480’s, stripped them down, and built them back up into something a little more unique. I love the stretched out, stringy designs (traditionally referred to as a ‘fantasy’ style design…maybe a little ‘Italian Vein’…but given that what I do deviates pretty heavily from ‘traditional techniques’ – I call it Unicorn Splatter in guitarbling world :-)) and the JS model lends itself well to that look. Also Joe and I did a charity piece together that was similar and I really liked that guitar, so figured I would make 20 more 🙂
There will be 27 of them for sale (Joe is keeping one and 2 are staying with the BDS team). The first dozen dropping on Friday 11/28/25 via Altitude Guitars. The next batch will be in spring 2026 and go out through Altitude, Ibanez Rules and a couple other retailers. Given that they have been disassembled and refinished and that possibly affecting the factory warranty – we are backing up the warranty ourselves. They come with all their original paperwork and case candy + a BDS certificate with the # in the run and signed by me and Joe. I hope their new owners love their guitars as much as I do!
